On the book “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair argues about the American Dream, how Jurgis Rudkus and Ona Lukoszaite moved to America to live a better life.Jurgis R. Works at a meat packing industry which shows how immigrant people who come to the U.S. start from the bottom and he also talks about how it’s a difficult, dangerous, and a filthy place where it is difficult to find a job also Ona found out the money in the U.S. was more than her money from her country. His purpose is for people to see what immigrant people have to go through and start from the bottom since they don’t have nothing when they migrate from their country to U.S..He alters the readers because some of them could relate to Jurgis and Ona because they were immigrant and canned to the U.S. To look for a better life
Now days people from other country’s come to the U.S. to have a better life and better future for their kids.A lot of people could relate to this book not just because there immigrant but also they start a new life and also from nothing which a lot of people have been through this. Also some even die from crossing or walking to the U.S. Since they do not have water and so they get dehydrated and die which a lot of immigrants do not make it to the U.S. Alive. My grandparents can relate a lot to this book and so my parents.
Jennifer Rosenberg, author of this article, Ebola Outbreaks in Sudan and Zaire, informs of a completely new disease that no one in the medical field has ever heard of. Rosenberg develops her article by first explaining where the virus originated from, what the symptoms are, and how they were spreaded. The purpose of this article was to analyze the actual origins of the Ebola virus and clarify how it was spreaded. The article is for anyone who is curious about the Ebola Virus.
I thought the article was really informative. I have never knew where Ebola actually originated. I knew it was somewhere in Africa, but didn’t know the specific place. After reading how the virus was spreaded, it was a really stupid mistake not sterilizing needles before use. It even surprised me that the Ebola Virus was described in 1976 and we are finally hearing about it in 2014.
The African-American Civil Rights Movement was mainly about social movements in the United States whose goals were to end racial segregation and discrimination against black Americans and to secure legal recognition and federal protection of the citizenship rights stated in the Constitution and federal law. They did not advocate violence but they did receive many violent acts against them . An important year was 1965 when the Voting Rights Act had an immediate and positive effect for African Americans. Within months of its passage, 250,000 new black voters had been registered, one third of them by federal examiners. This was a huge step towards the right direction for the government and also sparking an altered mindset for the african americans who started demanding their rights more aware that they were being heard. This huge step in advocating their voting rights could not have been done with huge motivational speakers like Martin Luther King Jr. & Nelson Mandela.
I think it’s important to know these things because our society is corrupt and this shows how not too long ago this was going on and our world was hugely divided . It’s unfair and it hasn’t changed though people like to say it has , I don’t experience it often but I see it in public and it’s disgusting knowing that there are people out there angry for something you were born to be .
Coming from London, England, Led Zeppelin made one of their most iconic album of their time, ‘Led Zeppelin IV’ (1971). The album contains a stunning mixture of blues, rock, and folk along with heavy riffs and poetic lyric that brings dynamic tone to the music. The album portrays of fantasy life from Robert Plant in “Stairway to Heaven” and in “Black Dog”. The album did not have a title or any label at all, explained by Plant, that the album were to called Zoso and have the symbols (symbols from the tarot cards). This shows the beauty of having a fantasy ideology can represent someones life spiritually through melodies.
Personally i really love this album a tons. Jimmy page was one of my influences to play guitar along with other rock and metal legends. After learning more in depth to this album i can easily imagine the scenery and truth of this album along with the band.
“Rocky” is a movie with main character Sylvester Stallone who plays as Rocky Balboa a boxer that fights for a high title. He has to fight the best, biggest, and tough boxer to earn his title and he knows that comes with damage, but he is willing to go for it. His purpose to get this high title is to show that he is a good fighter who is a kind hearted man with little education that can beat the toughest guy. The intended audience is people who have a dream and that no matter if they are low class anything is possible and they can reach high goal they wouldn’t think its possible, and to people who like action or drama.
I personally love movies like this. I remember my parents use to watch it but I didn’t and now that I watched it again I understand it and I find it really exciting. I wish people would still make this kind of movies. The actors are really good and the movie has a really good message that anything is possible no matter of unducation or status and with a kind heart.

Victor Fleming in the adventure, Fantasy Movie The Wizard of Oz Victor asserts the fantasy and disillusionment of life through the character Dorothy who is taken away to a magical world. Victor supports his statement throughout the film by bringing magical creatures such as flying monkeys and witches into it, The authors apparent purpose is to show the viewers the disillusionment of life in the west an example of this would be how when Dorothy wakes up at the end of the movie she notices how each of her family members represent someone that was in her dream. In the end the intended audience were to the American people.

Movie (Raiders of the lost Ark)
Steven Spielberg, director of many great film’s, including Indiana Jones Raiders of the lost ark is the story of a professor, and archaeologist who was asked by the U.S to find the Ark of the Covenant, which is supposed to gold the ten commandments. Steven Spielberg’s purpose of this film is to show that if you try hard enough anyone can accomplish anything. There is no specific intended audience for this movie, it was made for all to enjoy.
– I enjoyed this movie, I thought it was a good combination between reality, and fiction. I had watched this movie when I was around eight, and it was just as good when I had watched it seven years ago. It was a great movie, along with the sequels.
The movie, The Godfather directed by Francis F. Coppola illustrates the daily lives of members of the mafia and the main character, Michael Coolio struggles to maintain a healthy relationship with his wife because of his new lifestyle. Coppola begins the movie the Godfather having a meeting with his acquaintances and builds to wars between 5 members or branches of the Mafia. The director’s purpose of this film is to portray what goes on within the mafia and how they control drugs or other illegal things. The intended audience is anyone who prefers mafia related movies or is just a fan of The Godfather.
I personally thought the movie was a little too slow and predictable at times for my taste, but overall it was a pretty intriguing movie. I have never seen The Godfather I’ve only heard about it from different people and now I am interested in part 2 of The Godfather.
